Gingrich - race baiter and poor basher

That Newt Gingrich is poised to win or place in the South Carolina primary is a sad commentary on the Republican party in the United States. Calling Barack Obama, the "food stamps" president in a clear attempt to bash the poor many of whom are people of colour is, to use Gingrich's rhetorical flourish, overwhelmingly and shockingly despicable. No mention made of his bilking Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, publicly funded, out of millions as he peddled influence for them....er gave history lessons. Nobody profited more from public service than Newt Gingrich.

As far as foreign policy his referencing of the Palestinian people as "invented" illustrates his penchant for inflammatory, uncritical rhetoric.

During his tenure as Speaker of the House where he was fined for ethics violations and removed as Speaker by his own party, he along with the "centrist" (aka neo-conservative and neo-liberal) Democrats hoisted welfare "reform" on the people. The result has been an increasing divide between incomes in the United States. Canada is less struck by this although Ontario had its share of "reform" under Mike Harris. The cuts to social assistance has left thousands of low income Ontarians without enough money to access housing. For example, the monthly income for an Ontario Works recipient is $525.00. The average cost of a single apartment in Thunder Bay, Ontario is $535.00.

This ad by Ron Paul is completely accurate and reveals the total pattern of Gingrich's political corruption. I do not agree with every aspect of Ron Paul when it comes to domestic policy (but I am 100% with him on foreign policy). Aside from the allusions to some conservative leaders, Paul makes some very important and accurate points in this ad; referring to Gingrich as a serial hypocrite.

Watch the next video where Ron Paul destroys Newt on the Patriot Act.

The title of this blog is an allusion to the famous work of Blaise Pascal.  This blog represents the variety of my interests and thoughts on any given day and are  strung together, like Pascal's Pensees, in no particular order. I work in the field of mental health,  education, and human rights. I write and am a human rights advocate. I enjoy poetry, jazz, spirituality, politics and a potpourri of other interests that you will see reflected in this blog.
